Will at-home microneedling help with keloid scarring from ear piercings? (photos)

I’m Asian and have not had any surgery so far so I’m not very sure if my scarring is genetic. I do have a few fresh piercings which have a bump too but because I did not take particular care of this one and assumed it would go down on its own, it’s quite bad. I’ve has the bump for close to 2 years now and nothing else has helped (regular cleaning with saline solution, tea tree oil). I still wear the piercing and would like to keep it.

keloids of this type need to be surgically removed then lasered. I suggest pretreatment with emeragecosmetics vivatia and emerageskin aox c and re-fit face to prevent hyperpigmentation and promote healing.

Sometimes the full scar needs to be surgically revised and this just entails surgically/cutting removing and restitching the scar with or without radiation or steroid injections/5fu.  I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist/plastic surgeon.  Pigmentation can be treated using cosmelan peel or lightening creams such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, retinol.  Non ablative lasers like fraxel combined with vascular lasers such as excel V, yellow laser, v beam/pulsed dye laser, venus versa IPL also help if  you want to try and avoid surgery.  Microneedling/prp can be added to the lasers or skin care to help the color, texture and tone.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.
