Chemical peels effects - help! Part of my skin was waxy and has a rough texture.

Hello,Thank you for your question. To provide you with a more accurate answer, I would need to know what type of chemical peel you received and some photos of the area of concern. With that being said, typically after a chemical peel your skin will feel tight and you can experience some light flaking to peeling of dead skin. Some areas of the skin may become and appear darker after the peel has been applied. Within 3-4 days post treatment the darker area should flake off. If your skin is feeling dry, you can apply a daily moisturizer and some sunscreen. I hope you find this helpful. Regards,

Chemical peels can vary dramatically in their strength and so it is not possible to fully answer your concerns without knowing what type of peel and what strength you received.  However, with medium to strong peels it is very normal to feel "tight" or dry for 5 - 10 days afterwards and to experience some sloughing or peeling.  Discoloration can represent dead skin cells that haven't yet peeled off.  I would recommend following up with the provider who gave you the peel and make sure you are following the post-care instructions that they want for you.
