Armpit darkened so badly after IPL. Is there a reason why? (Photo)

Pls help. I went for ipl for six times and suddenly realised that my skin is so dark and black now. Is there a reason why? I used to have shingles before .. does it have anything to do with it ?

your question beebeeescada. I understand your concern. IPL is a great
treatment for facial rejuvenation. It is difficult to make an assessment without before photographs. However post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can be treated with topical products such as hydroquinone. Please consult
with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Thanks for the great question and the photo. You may have developed some post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) or darkening of the skin because of the treatments. This sometimes happens in patients with darker skin types. In my opinion, the first course of treatment to try to lighten those areas would be by using hydroquinone which will help to remove the pigment.
