The settings used for Fraxel laser treatments are customized to the needs of the individual patient. If you have a question about the specific parameters used in your case, this should be discussed with your treating physician who has had a chance to personally examine you. Presumably he or she has a treatment strategy that can be explained to you.

The settings are correct for acne scars or deeper wrinkles using the 1550nm wavelength. The speed of movement of the treatment delivery head will also make a difference but there is no way to measure that other than by direct observation.  What we experience in medicine is a very variable response even with identical settings, that's why there is no cookbook formula. 

Fraxel settings are determined by your skin type and the condition that is being treated.  You should have treatment with an experienced physician who understands your skin and trust her to use the correct settings.  Your results will determine if these settings were appropriate for you.  Remember to avoid the sun after your treatments.
