I have a small urethrocele with redundant vaginal tissue. No other prolapses. My symptoms are life consuming: on a good day, I feel the redundant tissue that feels like a stuck tampon. On a bad day, my urethrocele absolutely throbs, like a stubbed toe level of pain, and I can hardly stand, walk, or sit. No urogyn wants to help with either issue since I don’t have any SUI. I’ve tried months of pelvic floor PT with zero improvement. I live on Tylenol and ibuprofen, ice packs and heating pads, but it barely touches my symptoms. Is there anything to be done? I feel like a mini sling with gentle tension would relieve so many of my symptoms (since my symptoms vanish if I support this area with a finger), but urogyns are rightly concerned about urinary retention. I feel doomed.
