No, minoxidil can not be used during pregnancy. There are few substitute medications but the exact ones I recommend depend on the diagnosis. For androgenetic alopecia, I might occasionally recommend low level laser therapy. Any treatments should be discussed with the health providers caring for and overseeingthe pregnancy. Treatment for other hair loss conditions are handled on a case by case basis (scarring alopecia, telogen effluvium, lupus, etc)
