No, Minoxidil can't be used during pregnancy. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone which can help with hair regrowth and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
No, minoxidil can not be used during pregnancy. There are few substitute medications but the exact ones I recommend depend on the diagnosis. For androgenetic alopecia, I might occasionally recommend low level laser therapy. Any treatments should be discussed with the health providers caring for and overseeingthe pregnancy. Treatment for other hair loss conditions are handled on a case by case basis (scarring alopecia, telogen effluvium, lupus, etc)
Dear Alreadylost,I Do not recommend Minoxidil during pregnancy. PRP for hair loss is safe & natural option as it is harvested from your own blood. No preservatives or drugs are involved. Hair loss is associated with hormonal changes in your case. Hormonal balancing down the road after pregnancy may also help.Best wishes!
I would not want my pregnant wife to use minxidil becuase it does get absorbed in the body of the user and therefore gets to the baby
