Does your body make the same amount of collagen, but it's prioritized to Sculptra injected sites?

Thanks for an interesting question. It is known that as we age, we “lose” collagen. This is because the body conserves energy loss and less and less collagen is restored. The consequences are skin laxity, descent of tissues of the face (and elsewhere), folds, wrinkles and other changes. Collagen formation only occurs when stimulated from injury as a repair mechanism or as recently discovered when various molecules of suture material such as PLLA, PDO and PLGA stimulate the immune systems macrophages and fibroblast to signal for collagen production. I would therefore believe that Sculptra injection mobilizes a multiplying of the immune system cells to produce new collagen and other structural molecules to the site injected and not “sequester or prioritize” collagen shifting to that site. With that said, multiple stimulus Sculptra sessions are recommended at the beginning of therapy and a maintenance yearly dosing is required to maintain and elevate loss of collagen at each injection site. To answer your question - The areas of injected Sculptra product helps increase the collagen/tissue reproduction to a limit. That was too little in the amounts injected. Seems like you were greatly under treated? But no posted photos so very hard to advise.
