Temporary crowns fell off. Can I wait a week to replace them?

I would have them recemented as soon as possible.  Your teeth can shift or your gums can grow around the edges of the crown preparation making the crowns more difficult to seat.

A week may not seem long, but in this time your teeth can shift preventing your permanent crowns from fitting properly.  I would recommend seeing your dentist as soon as possible to have new temporaries made. The temporary crowns protect the teeth and help prevent shifting.  If the temp crown broke call your dentist and get in to have a new temp made.  Even though a week doesn't seem long there can be shifting and even gum tissue overgrowth that can affect the final crown fitting into place.

Temporary crowns serve an important purpose. They protect the prepared tooth and keep it from moving. If you leave the temp off the tooth may shift and your new restoration may not fit as precisely as it should. I would schedule an appointment to have a new temp made.
