Answer: Scar Management Thank you for posting your question here!My answer will be based on the limited information and pictures provided, for a more detailed and bespoke plan I would encourage you t discuss with your surgeon in person.I am sorry that you have to deal with this scarring , I am sure you are frustrated. I would encourage you not to despair , there are multiple treatments that can be initiated that can improve your scarring , from IPL laser to improve the hyper pigmentations , to resurfacing lasers and scar gels and treatments. and you can safely do most of those treatments right now ( 2 months out), you actually should do those treatments before the scar completely matures to get the best results.I hope this helps, best of luck!

Answer: Scars after facelift I'm sorry to hear you are going through this after surgery! I think the problem is somewhat two-fold in that the scar looks a bit thick and wide (which can sometimes happen when there is excess tension on the incision during recovery) and that it is very red/erythematous. For the thickness I would strongly consider something like microneedling to try and break up some of that scar tissue. For the redness, you may benefit from laser resurfacing, though I do think that it may be a bit early for the laser component. I may wait another month or so as it looks like there still may be some inflammation playing a role. I would also make sure you are using a good scar cream and massaging the area to help with lymphatic flow and break up some of the deeper scar tissue. I hope this helps and best of luck,Kyle Kimura, MD

Answer: Navigating Post-Facelift Concerns: Understanding Scar Management Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your concerns following your facelift. It's understandable to feel distressed about scar appearance and discomfort. Here are a few insights that might help: Timing for Scar Treatment: Generally, addressing scars sooner rather than later can be beneficial. Early interventions, such as silicone gel or sheets, can help improve scar appearance and reduce thickness. However, it's crucial to follow your surgeon's guidance on when to begin these treatments. Scar Maturation: Scars can take up to a year or more to fully mature. During this time, they may change in appearance and texture. Thickening can sometimes occur due to tension or movement, as you've experienced with your neck scar. Consult with Your Surgeon: It's important to discuss your concerns with your surgeon. They can assess whether the scar is healing as expected or if additional treatments, such as steroid injections or laser therapy, might be beneficial. Camouflage and Styling Options: Until your scars improve, consider hairstyles or accessories that make you feel more comfortable and confident. Remember, you're not alone in feeling this way, and there are options to help address your concerns. Consulting with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon specializing in scar management might also provide additional solutions. Best wishes for your healing journey.

Answer: Early action is key for scars I would begin with vbeam laser immediately to reduce scar hyperemia. Topical Sequel Dark Scar Corrector and Plato's Scar Serum can help with a home regimen. Finally, fractional laser with laser-delivery of exosomes will also help. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
