PIH or burn? CO2 Laser 3 months ago & noticed brown spots 2 weeks after (Photo)

Question

I got a co2 laser about 3 months ago. Two weeks after the procedure I notice small round brown spots on my cheeks. The doctor recommended for me to continue w skinsceutical phlorentin, alastin brightening serum, retinol eod, moisturizer and sunscreen. I don’t see it going away and it so frustrating. My skin looked better before. Help!

I am sorry this has happened. I have been cautioning my regular followers for years about the risks of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)  and other complications from treatment with the various kinds of expensive light and energy-based gizmos being hawked so heavily out there and on social media. I have had gratifying results treating these kinds of issues using manual microneedling (no need for the added expense or risks of RF microneedling) accompanied by the application of prescription pigment lightening medications. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.
