I have two hair transplant surgeries and lately I’ve noticed each time I’m brushing my hair that my hair transplants fall out as I brush my hair. I have curly hair so I brush a lot to style my hair and get through the curls. I’m not sure if it’s due to me brushing my hair so much each day or if my hair is going through the natural hair cycle. I wanted to know is this normal for my implants to be coming out so much each day I’ve noticed some coming out each day?

Answer: Shock Loss Hello and thank you for your question. Yes this is completely normal, not to worry. You will continue to lose transplanted hair for about 4-6 weeks after your transplant. While this is “normal” please be careful to avoid lots of pulling and hard brushing. I hope this helps ease your concern. Please reach out to me if you have additional questions or concerns. Dr. T

Answer: Shock loos after hair transplant Transplanted graft’s hair starts to shedding in the first week of surgery and may go on untill 4-6 th weeks after surgery. That may create patcy areas with no hair and asymmetric hair shedding on each side of recipient area, that is normal and expected phenomena. İt is not surprising to lost approx. % 70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing or touching the head. When the scabs falling off, there may be some tiny hair attached in it, that is normal.
