How long ago was your transplant? It is not uncommon that for the first 3 - 4 months after a transplant the hairs in the transplanted follicles will fall out. The follicles start growing a new hair from the 4th month onward but it usually takes 12 - 15 months for all of the transplanted follicles to grow their new hairs. Your loss is not related to you brushing your hair.

Transplanted hair is supposed to be permanent. It is normal for some transplanted hair to fall out when brushing or combing, especially in the first few weeks after the procedure. This is because the transplanted hair grafts will initially shed as part of the natural growth cycle, and new hair will start to grow in its place.

Hello and thank you for your question. Yes this is completely normal, not to worry. You will continue to lose transplanted hair for about 4-6 weeks after your transplant. Transplanted graft’s hair starts to shedding in the first week of surgery and may go on untill 4-6 th weeks after surgery.That may create patcy areas with no hair and asymmetric hair shedding on each side of recipient area, that is normal and expected phenomena. İt is not surprising to lost approx. % 70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing or touching the head. When the scabs falling off, there may be some tiny hair attached in it, that is normal.
