Fillers and CO2 laser

Question

Hi! I have acne scars and regularly getting traumatic procedures to getting rid off my acne scars such as co2 laser, RF micro needlings, peelings and other procedures. But I’m also getting old and I need other aesthetic procedures too - botox and also planning to get chin fillers and get face tightening HIFU face lift, and I’d like to ask can I get these procedures and month later get co2 laser and other procedures or it could cause more damages and is the best to wait? Sorry for bad English))

It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. Hello Tattykoo! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. Fillers are generally injected into the deeper layers of the skin. CO2 lasers target the top half and outer layers of the skin. With that being said, CO2 lasers do generate heat which could potentially affect the underlying fillers and can potentially cause them to dissolve and resorb quicker. For this reason, it is recommended to wait at least 1-2 weeks before or after fillers before performing any laser treatments to the face. I hope this helps!

Procedures are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Following normal reactions such as redness and swelling are observed. However, I will check for a variety of complications that may occur. While the treatments do produce amazing results when used together, a four to six-week break between each treatment is oftentimes recommended for optimal results. For best results, the laser treatment is done first, followed by the dermal filler.
