Is Emsculpt safe if I had an unexplained bleed in my abdomen about 3 years ago?

Yes, you can still have EMSCulpt done since it does not treat your internal organs. You probably bled from an ulcer or polyp that was not seen with the scope.

There is no contraindication to EmSculpt related to bleeding. But there are several questions that you should be prepared to answer: 1) Where in your abdomen was bleed, I suspect intestines? 2) Do you have metal anywhere in your body: joint replacement, surgical clips etc. 3) Are you on any medications or special treatments related to this past bleeding event. If you are healthy now and want to increase muscle tone, EmSculpt will be helpful. You will need to work on healthy diet to decrease adipose or fatty tissue, along with EmSculpt for muscle growth.

Unexplained bleeding should not be ignored. If you have/had vaginal bleeding you should speak to your primary or OBGYN. If it is rectal speak to your primary or gastroenterologist. All of these ares of bleeding often need a work up, which can include and ultrasound, CT scan, colonoscopy and blood work. This can be a thyroid or other hormonal abnormality and don't forget that unexplained bleeding can also be cancer.
Even if you had not had any vaginal bleeding before, Emsculpt when done on the lower abdomen can cause vaginal bleeding. This is more common if a preexisting condition like endometriosis or uterine fibroid is present. When used on the buttocks it is much less likely to cause bleeding, unless a person is very thin and small. Bottom line, please don't ignore unexplained bleeding. In most people Emscupt is a very safe and effective treatment and does not result in abnormal bleeding.
