Hi, I've had two treatments with an IPL laser and so far I think the results have been absolute garbage. I am incredibly disappointed and was wondering if I would have any more success with PDL. My rosacea has made me more self-conscious and been a real problem for me. Also, other than PDL are there any other treatments for the long-term prevention of rosacea? Thanks.
Answer: Vbeam treatments for rosacea Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. Schedule a consultation with an expert in Vbeam and you will find it to be an excellent modality for many skin types. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: IPL or PDL for Rosacea Hi OO. An IPL in your case may be a viable option, but the question is always, how was the treatment performed? Was there mild bruising or was it a very painless treatment. The fluence (energy) used during treatments has a huge effect on your results. The same is true for the PDL. While Pulsed dye lasers are a better option for problematic Rosacea, the practitioner using the laser will still determine how to do the treatment and thus determine the potential outcome. If you are unhappy with your current results, we would suggest searching out a laser practitioner that uses pulsed dye lasers every day. To see a good example of what pulsed dye lasers can do for Rosacea, click on the link below.

Answer: Improving Rosacea with Clear + Brilliant, peels and VBeam/Yellow lasers, Botox/Xeomin/Dysport I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. For rosacea, I like a combination approach, using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V, Clear + Brilliant), peels and botox to the cheeks. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: PDL versus IPL for rosacea There are some medications that can help to treat rosacea. A dermatologist should be able to help you with that. In regards to laser treatment, I think that PDL works much better than IPL for treating redness, including rosacea. Even with PDL though, sometimes more than one treatment session may be needed to get the best result.

Answer: Pulsed Dye Laser vs IPL Facial redness can be a challenge to treat. Both Pulse Dye Laser (PDL) and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) can help. In our experience, deeper stubborn erythema (redness) tends to respond best to PDL. Vigilant sunscreen, azelaic acid, topical vasoconstricting agents (Rhofade and Mirvaso) can also improve facial redness. I recommend that you see a dermatologist for further assessment.
