Need the second opinion for bone grafting before a dental implant? (photos)

Hi and thank you for your question. Although it is difficult to tell from  the ct. scan the panoramic view does show bone loss in the area. It seems that not even a 3.3 implant could be placed without havinf additional bone loss. My recommendation is to have the area augmented with a cortical bone graft or the Straumann custom block using your 3 D image.

Hi:It is difficult to give you 100% accurate advice just based on the scan, however, it appears you have had bone resorption after the extraction and need bone grafting.  Please post a photo of the area.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Hi, well those images are not the best for accurate diagnosis, because we are missing a few basically, but from what i can see there it looks like you do have some bone loss already, if this is confirm with the full scan or xrays, i would say the bone graft is a must if you want to have a aesthetic result at the end of your treatment. also, you should be prepared, because most likely, not only will you need the bone graft but probably you will also need some sort of gum graft as well a few months after the bone graft. i recommend for you to get a second opinion from a periodontist in this matters. hope this helps. good luck
