Question

Just had my no. 15 tooth extracted two days ago due to movement (2mm) and bone loss. My periodontitis seems reluctant to do implant citing lower success rate and loose bone at the region. My question: do I have adequate bone to do implant without sinus lifting? Could basal implant be an option? The attached x-ray was taken one week ago, and my 1 and 16 wisdom teeth were also extracted last week after the x-ray.

From your attached xray I can not clearly see the amount of bone present, especially since the tooth was still in place when it was taken and no information was given about whether a socket graft was placed at time of extraction.  The best way by far to treatment plan an implant in the sinus region is with a 3D scan and implant design software to determine if grafting is needed, amount of bone available, etc.  Your periodontist is correct about the quality of bone in this region being less dense and not as successful for implants vs other regions of the mouth.

opg is not clearly visible, so upload high resolution file or , local/site xray. normally sinus lift is required in teeth extrected long back. or bone loss due to poor gum condition.
