I had a septorhinoplasty 8 months and 2 weeks ago, so I’m nearly 9 months post-op. Overall, my appearance is greatly improved and my nose functions properly now. I’m getting close to a year post-op however and I’m nervous about my right nostril showing more than my left nostril, and the roundness of the tip. Is the shape of my tip going to improve? I feel like it will never swell down. It looked so good immediately post-op.
Answer: This is not swelling I'm sorry to tell you this, but the issues of nostril show and round tip (as seen from the side, I presume), will not abate with time. They are a function of the tip cartilage shape and position. The good news is that you are attractive, your nose is pleasing in appearance overall, and no one will see these small things. And you can breathe! You should really think hard before considering revision, because revision rhinoplasty would not be a minor touch up, unfortunately. You'll need substantial cartilage, and your septal cartilage will likely not be sufficient; you will need rib cartilage as well, either your own or fresh frozen cadaveric rib cartilage. Do not let anyone use your ear cartilage, and any revision surgeon worth her salt would know this.

Answer: You appear to have a lovely result! Believe it or not, your nostril asymmetry is minimal, and most people do not notice it. The best advice would be to sit tight until all of your swelling is gone. You will know when all of your swelling is gone when you're 10 PM nose becomes your 10 AM nose. When all of your swelling is resolved, if you were still bothered by your nostril asymmetry, depending on your examination, microdroplets Silikon 1000 injections may be considered for lowering your nostrils, improving nostril symmetry, and decreasing nostril show on both sides. Thank you for your question, and I wish you were moving forward. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Uneven nostrils after rhinoplasty We say depending on the skin thickness, average of 6 to 12 months would be the sufficient time for nose to settle its final look. With that said, its not possible for your nostrils to be equal. Everyone has asymmetry on their face and its not possible to make nostrils even 100%. Tip might get slightly smaller. Best of luck to you

Answer: Rhinoplasty You have an excellent result. You have a bit of a hanging columella which is easy to correct but honestly your result is so good I wouldn’t even touch it
