Is it safe to use Minoxidil for beard growth?

Hello Doctors! I am 25 years old and i have a patchy beard on my chin and i am unable to grow beard on the cheeks ever since. A friend of mine suggested me to look out for minoxidil 5%. Does it have any side effects in the long run? If yes, then what alternative should i opt? Please suggest.

No. An 18 hour fast will not cause hair loss. Theoretically a long fast might deplete essential vitamins but taking a daily vitamin pill would eliminate that risk,

Not to worry. In one study of over 49,000 persons taking Bactrim, 254 (0.62%) reported hair loss. The odds of this happening to you are very low.

Yes it is normal phenomena in telogen efflivium . Because hair get in to resting and shedding phase  in TE that means they get thinner and duller than normal growing anagen phase hair .

The 2 main differences are that 5% minoxidil is FDA approved, the 10% minoxidil is not, and 10% typically would have greater benefits for hair but it also has a higher risk of side effects.

For this particular condition it is better to be seen by a dermatologist to determine which treatment method is right for you. Typically this is treated topically and not orally.
