Most patients get weight loss surgery with a BMI of 35 and above. I want the surgery. What are the risks and setbacks of getting weight loss surgery at a normal bmi

At a normal BMI of 24 you will not qualify for surgery. Another option would be a gastric balloon. If you are looking for an effective, non-surgical tool to help you lose weight, the newly approved gastric balloon – or weight loss balloon - may be a good option for you. Although you may hear the balloon called “gastric balloon surgery,” this is inaccurate because the balloon procedure is not a surgical treatment.

Hello, in your case no, you're barely overweight, you do not need surgical procedures other than to change your lifestyle, avoid foods that contain flour, sweets, soda, canned food. Maintain an active lifestyle with exercises and focus on making a healthy habit every day, this way you will achieve success.
As an only option in cases like yours would be the use of the gastric balloon but it would not be necessary with your BMI.
