Can I safely shave down my teeth so they are all aligned? (Photo)

Question

I think that my 2 front teeth are huge and i would like to have them shaved down at least and have my tiny gaps filled in. my goal is to have my teeth all aligned perfectly and maybe try to get them more scuared shaped rather then the ends be so rounded. I do not want veneers. Any suggestions?

I do not recommend reshaping of your front teeth no more than 1 millimeter. If more than that, tooth sensitivity can occur.Your teeth will look good with a little adjustment, but do not forget if tooth is shaven off, that part of the tooth is gone, it needs to be done very little at the time, and there are charges on that depending on the expertise of your dentist or cosmetic dentist.You might want to close the black triangles also with dental bonding, that will give you a nice smile lift.Dental bonding is conservative in nature and not much tooth structure is shaven off your teeth, you might possibly want to add length to your lateral incisors, in combination with cosmetic contouring of your smile line.

The answer is yes your two front teeth can be shortened and reshaped.  The small gaps could be bonded as well.  There is a limit to how much they can be shortened without making the tooth sensitive.  Making the adjacent teeth longer with bonding may be a consideration as they are very short and accent the length of the two center teeth.
