Yes I know "when done correctly" at your practice the results are fabulous. But the bad results are from what? Is it over-treatment? Even in a question posted on this website for a necklift, a doctor asked a lady if she had done Ultherapy because her neck skin looked so strangely loose and bunched up so doctor said are definitely AWARE it can have negative effects but WHY? Is it just bad luck and happens to some random people? I imagine it has to be the fault of the protocol used...
Answer: Ultherapy and results - the truth. OK many reasons why. Firstly does this treatment work? Yes, but results and outcomes are determined by -1. Candidate selection. Just a guide out of 5 patients who ask for Ultherapy we only perform 3 out of the 5. In our practice in Brisbane Australia, 40% of candidates who ask for this treatment are not suitable. This is because of several reasons. Firstly the jowls or area is too heavy. Secondly sun damage maybe too excessive and hence collagen is ' fragmented' (most common cause to say no in our practice).2. Technique. This is critical in delivering the best outcome. At times the company's protocol needs to be broken to deliver the best results. Technique comes with meticulous movements and number of lines, or shots fired in the correct areas. 3. Time. It take time before collagen contracts and remodels. It may take up to 4-6 months to see the best results. A review at 2 months may not be indicative of the best results. Ultherapy is only one method to achieve a goal, its not the only device, so appropriate use of this system is needed. I hope this answers most of the questions regarding the truth of Ultherapy - at the end of the day, I think if all things are equal (training etc...) it comes down to candidate selection.
