Is Fraxel Dual safe for Asian skin? What are the chances of developing PIH after a Fraxel Dual?

I'm an Asian looking to get a Fraxel Dual treatment. I've consulted at 3 separate places and they all seem to have different opinions about the safety of Fraxel Dual on Asian skin. Is Fraxel Dual safe for ethnic skin? Will it cause PIH? How do I prevent PIH after a laser treatment?

Any laser treatment can cause PIH, however, this risk is much reduced with pre-treatment with brightening creams. Fraxel Dual can be safely used in Asian skin with the right settings and a physician who has extensive knowledge of this device. Other options include Clear and Brilliant lasers and picosecond lasers for asian skin types. I encourage you to choose a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in treating Asian skin tones. With a qualified doctor and personalized treatment plan, you should have a very safe and successful procedure.

in the old days we used to do this all the time and get PIH that had to be treated with lightening creams.  now if we are going to do fraxel on asian skintypes we PRETREAT with cosmelan or enlighten peels and POST TREAT with nonablative post care products, PRP/acell, and oxygen facials.  I fidn that halo Is safer and better in asian skintypes, but skincare is essential.  see links.  please see an expert.

Fraxel Dual can be very safe for Asian and/or darker skin if the correct settings are used.  Risk of PIH can be further reduced by avoiding, sun exposure and using hydroquinone cream before and after Fraxel.
