Can I be allergic to the metal in my braces? (photos)

Just got braces on like 7 days ago I feel my face swollen. I think I’m allergic to the metal what do I do ! ? Can you tell the difference in my cheeks I can !

It is possible that you are allergic to the metal braces which are likely composed of nickel. It is possible to get nickel-free braces. Although the prevalence of metal allergy is high in the general population (it is estimated that up to 17% of women and 3% of men are allergic to nickel and that 1-3% are allergic to cobalt and chromium), it is rare to see that in the mouth. Another possible cause of allergy is latex. Talk to your orthodontist and dermatologist for further evaluation.
