Your two front teeth (central incisors) should fit harmoniously with your lower lip (which they mostly do with the possible exception of the outside corners) and should be the same length as your canine teeth (which they are). By contouring the outside corners of your two central incisors the edges of your two front teeth would better follow the contour of your lower lip and decrease the difference in length between your central incisors and lateral incisors which is ideally 1-2 mm (yours appear to be 2-2 1/2 mm).You have a beautiful smile that may possibly be improved with some very subtle contouring of the central incisors. I would entrust the subtle contouring to a qualified cosmetic dentist. This is a VERY simple procedure (if correct principles of smile design are followed) that will make a significant improvement in your smile.Good luck!

Your orthodontist is correct in that some people have larger teeth and some have smaller teeth.  While braces can not change tooth shape or size discrepancies, some filing at the end of treatment can camouflage very minor issues and truly adds a finished touch to a beautiful smile.
