I have just wasted a ton of money on a Harvard trained MD. She is good with forehead Botox but obviously not good with fillers. I was very bruised, lumps on the corners of mouth, top lip is only fuller on one side. Injected Botox on the sides of my nose. This resulted in my top lip dropped, I cant even smile, top lip rolls under when I try to smile, top lip looks smaller than before filler. She used a nerve block in four areas. This made one side of my face draw up for hours.
Answer: Expertise with fillers The short answer to your question is to ask other family or friends in your area. They typically provide the best advice. Also, consulting your primary care physician or dermatologist may also provide that information. Finally, there is an art to injecting fillers and botox. Each can be done in such a way as to achieve a different result. I personally consult with all of my physicians prior to injecting botox or filler in order to see exactly what look or result they are trying to achieve. People differ anatomically and the same approach does not work for every patient and therefore the filler and botox often have to be injected slightly differently in each patient in order to achieve the results he/she is looking to obtain. The good news is that botox is temporary and wears off relatively quickly. The filler can last longer but there are medications which can counteract the filler if the issues such as lumpiness, asymmetry are not resolving quickly enough for you.

Answer: Fillers and Doctors It is hard to know exactly who to go to. You should look for someone who trains others, has good pictures, is well known in the field and uses the most up to date methods for injections. Those who do cannula injections, similar to myself, get much less bruising and swelling and get excellent results. I suggest a formal consult with someone who is an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Doctors who treat enough patients will always have a few who are unhappy... some has to do with the doctor and some with the patient...so there's no guarantee that you'll get the outcome you desire even when you see the most competent physician...but in order to stack the odds in your favor, start with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon...discuss your plight with friends and co-workers...drop into a local gym where people often have already had treatment and listen to the opinions...call the county medical society...call a nearby medical school and ask who's on the teaching staff...just some ideas and then see what the doctor says and maybe look at before and after pictures...good luck

Answer: Fillers and botox It doesn't really matter what school the doctor went to. Go to a board certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic, oculoplastic, or dermatologist for fillers and botox. Do your research.
