Can any laser treatment help to improve excess skin on top of the eyelids? (Photos)

Question

I'm 43 years old and I've been dealing with extra skin in the upper eyelids, but lately I even can't curl my eyelashes because immediately they come down, How can I improve that sagging skin? Do you think Halo or Thermasmooth laser treatments will help me? Thank you very much.

A combination approach would be best. In order to lift the lateral eyebrow, I recommend a combination of botox and fillers. Radiofrequency treatments with thermage and/or ultherapy work very well to also elevate the brow and pull the skin away from your eye. Sometimes you need surgery such as brow lift or eyelid skin removal.  See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

I would recommend the Thermismooth because it is a RF device and it won't cause any hyperpigmentation like the Halo which is a laser which can cause hyperpigmentation in ethnic patients.  In addition, Thermismooth has a technology that allows for more heating to the skin without discomfort which increases its effectiveness.

Deep laser resurfacing of the eyelids can be used to tighten the skin and we have used this treatment modality successfully in our practice. There is a longer downtime with deep laser resurfacing than there is with profractional, Halo, or other modalities, but the degree of tightening is typically greater. 
When there is a greater degree of excess skin such as what your pictures show, I usually recommend seeing a surgeon that specializes in surgery on the face and eyes for a possible blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). You will probably need more than one deep laser resurfacing to get the degree of tightening you would be happy with. A blepharoplasty is usually quick with a relatively short recovery time and provides a nice, controllable amount of tightening.
If you decide to undergo deep laser resurfacing, it is important to have realistic expectations and realize that you may need more than one treatment. Good luck with whatever treatment path you choose.

It is difficult to tell from your picture what would be the best procedure for you. There are several devices that will tighten skin of the upper lid. You may need surgery to get the results you want.Some non invasive devices that may be appropriate include the exillis or CO2 resurfacing. We use the AcuPulse by Lumenis in our office. You should have a consult with experienced practitioner who can give you several options for treatment.
