I just started Invisalign today and noticed the gap between the top of the trays and my gums it doesn't cover my whole tooth. Also I have space at the Invisalign edges of the trays. The fit is really snug and the attachments seem to be in the correct place I can't push them up any further. The template was this way as well. I guess I was expecting this to be a little less noticeable. Should I be concerned?

This should have been discussed with you prior to the start of treatment. What is included with the initial fees and what additional costs may be incurred. Do you have a signed contract? If so read through and see if this was detailed. Every dental office will have different policies and fees.

Permanent bonded retainers should not be an issue for the activities you describe. When the retainers are placed they should feel smooth to your tongue. No one will know its there.
