Does rhinoplasty REDUCE your life span:(?

Let's face it: the human nose was NOT meant to be cut up and sewed back up into place. That's an extremely stressful event for any human body. Could this type of trauma shorten/reduce life span at all? It's a difficult operation and so are there any negative long term, damaging effects? Also, what is the effect of having fake pieces sewn into your nose? Like when your nose ages and starts to droop? Do you have to keep getting nose jobs like Michael Jackson to fix it! :/

Rhinoplasty does not shorten your life span.In order to decide if this is a procedure for
you, obtain a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. During this
meeting they will examine your nose and discuss rhinoplasty surgery in detail
with you. This should include whether or not you are a candidate, specifically
what surgery would entail, potential risks and complications and what to expect
in terms of recovery. Michael Jackson’s story is a very unusual one and
certainly not the norm after rhinoplastysurgery. The vast majority of patients will do well after one operation.

Excellent question. No, rhinoplasty does not reduce your life span. The goal of surgery is to get it right the first time, so you do not necessarily need multiple procedures. This is why it is important to select a board certified plastic surgeon who does a lot of rhinoplasty surgery in order to decrease your risk of complications and re-operations.
