Question

Hello Doctors I have been experiencing acne scars from last 8 years. Recently I decided to bid good bye to my acne.I visited a dermatologist.She suggest me to undergo RF micro Needling.My question here is after taking 4 to 5 sessions of RF needling will Results lasts long? or do I have to repeat once in a while.And also am a athlete, I runs every morning and sweats a lot.is it ok? During treatment.Thanks in advance.

I too suffered from very bad acne with scarring in my 30's after my daughter was born. I know the feeling that you have when your skin is damaged from that. Microneedling with RF or PRP (my favorite) works exceptionally well for acne scarring. In general, since microneedling does not stop the aging process, we say that the results require some maintenance on a yearly or twice a year basis. However, since acne scarring is a static process (if your acne has stopped) and so I can say that you probably will have fairly permanent results. You probably won't get rid of all the scarring with a few treatments though if it is severe and so you can continue on with the treatments as long as you feel like they are worthwhile. It is possible in the areas where you don't get complete resolution, that as you age the skin itself will weaken and that scarring will appear more prominent, but that only has to do with the aging process not the scarring itself. The scars that resolve will not come back. 
I would go for it, and plan to do 1 session a year while you are under 35 and switch to 2 sessions a year afterwards to keep your skin youthful over time.
