Can I Sit in a Rocking Chair After Rhinoplasty?

Hello I just got a rhynoplasty and feel okay. Can I rock in a rocking chair or will that disrupt my healing?

Hi,

	Sitting and rocking in a rocking-chair does not affect your rhinoplasty; engaging in strenuous activities as a "fresh" rhinoplasty patient or suffering from a nasal trauma may affect the end-results of your surgery.

Hello. Rocking a rocking chair and other light activities will not usually affect the healing process. It is important that you avoid bumping your nose or putting yourself under too much strain to prevent trauma to the nose.

Light activity is ok after rhinoplasty. This includes walking, cooking, and even rocking in a chair. You should be careful not to do any strenuous activity, exercise, or any other activity that could cause trauma to the nose.

Most likely it is ok to be sitting in a rocking chair after a rhinoplasty.  If you do not feel comfortable touch base with your surgeon.

I had a patient ask me the other day if he could play the piano after rhinoplasty. I replied, "Only if you took lessons prior to surgery!" Of course you can use your rocking chair after surgery (only if you plan to use it for rocking). Best of Luck!
