Replace dental bridge or go with implants? Currently have a 3 unit bridge for teeth #3, 4 & 5 (missing tooth was #5)

Since we are discussing posterior teeth, I would recommend getting at least one implant and possibly using a bridge to connect the implant to the connect the other stable teeth.  This would fill the spaces and provide much more support than a 4 unit bridge supported by only two teeth.  This is would also likely increase the strength of your implanted tooth, by redistributing the biting pressure among a larger surface area.  Your option of placing two implants, is not the option that I would recommend.  Good luck and I hope this helps. These are always challenging decisions and without proper images, it is difficult to recommend one treatment over another.  The larger a bridge gets the more load is placed on the teeth supporting the bridge.  4 unit bridges can work in some situations but my experience makes me very cautious to do them.  Implants are usually better in a situation like this even though you need several procedures to get them.  There are pros and cons to both procedures.  I would suggest you discuss these options with your dentist so that you can make the right decision.  Good luck!
