Apparently I have Telogen Effluvium. My hair isn't thick anymore. I was prescribed Clobetasol. Is this a good option?

1. Does anybody prescribed clobetasol for TE? 2. Can use a product called Vichy Dercos Aminixil for TE?. 3. There is another product called Dercos Neogenic with stemoxydine 5% from Vichy that promised 1700 new hairs. Should I start using that to awake my telogen stage follicles to regrow my hair? It's very frustated that is not much information about this condition, and In this moment I am doing my own investigation in how to combat TE. Any suggestions in what product to use. Thank you!!!

In my opinion, you should be evaluated by a hair expert. Telogen effluvium is treated based upon the etiology . Some possible etiologies are thyroid, iron deficiency, fever, surgery, medical illness, vitamin D deficiency, vitamin A deficiency, zinc deficiency, copper or selenium deficiency, essential fatty acid deficiency and mental stress. Treatment is the removal of the cause. Topical minoxidil is the main stay of treatment. Some report platelet rich plasma to be helpful. Hope this helps. Good luck.

This is a complex condition that has many causes. You need to be evaluated for the various causes first by a doctor who specializes in this condition. IF there is a cause, then the cause should be addressed and a blind treatment with a steroid may not be in your best interest.
