Can You Get a Refund Following an Unsuccessful Invisalign Treatment?

I started Invisalign over a year ago, and now after the 16+ months and 1 refinement, the Dentist came back to me and said that the results I want (2mm intrustion) are not obtainable from Invisalign. What? I went back into the office to get additinal impressions for a 2nd refinement. Then after 2 months of not hearing my dentist she finally called and said that a 2mm intrusion is not possible with Invisalign. Can I get a refund? I feel like I shoudn't have been a candidate in the 1st place.

Sorry to hear about your problems. In general I would say that in my practice if our goals are not attainable then I would discuss other options with my patients to help achieve those goals. I would not give a refund though.

If what you say is accurate, then I think you might discuss alternatives with your dentist. Invisalign can get some intrusion of teeth, but not 2mm and not predictably. If your treatment objectives were clearly stated and promised and were outside the capabilities of the system, then adjustments should be considered.
