Why do I have a triangle gap after I had my braces off? Can I fix it? (Photo)

Question

I had my braces on for 1year and a half, and when i got them off i thoughts they were perfect. A few days later i started noticing a triangle gap on my front teeth. I dont remember having that gap before i got my braces on I recently went to the orthodontist, and the nurse told me it was normal? Personally, i dont think that im supposed to have this gap. I wear my retainers everyday except when i eat. I want to know if this is normal. Will the gap eventually close, or will i need braces again?

There are two ways to handle the space. First is to reshape the teeth and have your orthodontist close the space. The second is to bond this area. Either way will work. The space has occurred because you moved the teeth and there is no gum tissue to fill in this space. It isn't a problem unless you think it's unsightly.It is a very common occurance after ortho.

The best solution would be to contour the teeth and move them closer, but it is hard to move teeth SUCH a small amount and have them stay.  Another option is Bioclear.  This fills in the space with a material that is permanently attached.  With such a small space, it may be difficult to make a dramatic change, but it is certainly possible.
