3 year old man with around 13% body fat and while my skin is mostly i have several areas of fat accumulating in my love handles and lower abs. hence on Friday I will be undertaking the procedure. My concern is that in 60 days after I have vaser high Def done I will be going overseas on a surfing trip, by which time I'm hoping that any marks, scars swelling or bruising would have disappeared. Is this a realistic expectation? Will i see a noticeable (and positive) difference in 8 weeks?
Answer: Recovery Time and Results After Vaser High Def Liposuction A quicker #recovery for a patient may be two to three weeks without any strenuous activity. This includes the short period of suggested rest of 12-24 hours soon following the procedure. #Exercise and activity are contingent on how the patient feels. Mild activity is not likely to hinder recovery or healing or create problems with recovery. However, it is recommended to acquire your doctor's permission to do so. Once you begin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it can tolerate. Don’t rush!! Swelling after #Vaser liposuction is not uncommon. Gentle #walking may increase circulation and help to alleviate swelling. But you must not strain or push yourself. Also, if you were provided a post-procedure #garment, be sure you are wearing it until prescribed otherwise by your doctor. The purpose of the post-procedure #garment is to provide some gentle #support and to reduce swelling. If it feels too tight or causes pain, take it off. Many patients wear the #elastic garment for several weeks after procedures, as directed by their doctor; some choose to wear it longer for several months for comfort. The final results of the procedure are typically most noticeable 2-4 months following the #Vaser. So, you must have patience. The swelling will gradually diminish while the contours of the treated area(s) can continue to improve up to one year post procedure; becoming more apparent in appearance. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.

Answer: Recovery time and results after vaser high Def liposuction You should certainly discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. But, generally speaking if you adhere to your surgeons postoperative plan (mine personally involves use of a compression garment and lymphatic massage drainage) most of the swelling will be gone by 2 months (less commonly 3) after surgery and will be a gradual process. Nothing will make scars "disappear" but I offer my patients laser for all postop scars to help improve their appearance. At 2 months they will likely still be pink and visible, as they typically will take up to a year to fade and soften. As plastic surgeons that perform cosmetic surgery, however, we are conscious of concerns regarding scars and try to hide them in as inconspicuous a position as possible such as in natural skin creases/folds. You should definitely be able to see results by 2 months. Good luck!
