How often does Renuva fail to encourage the growth of new fat cells in the injection site?

Question

In particular, what is the risk that injecting 30cc of Renuva will result in no added tissue volume once the Renuva itself has been reabsorbed into the body (say, after 6 months)? I know that it has performed well in many cases, just wondering how often it fails so that I have realistic expectations. Thank you!

Really great questions!

Renuva doesn't "fail" like fat grafts can fail. When Renuva is injected, it creates a honeycomb-like structure where your body's own fat cells can form. These fat cells are just like the fat cells in the rest of your body, and they'll live as long as fat cells typically live, which is about 10 years. All of the fat cells that grow in the Renuva matrix, thrive.

I always recommend my patients return 3 months post-treatment, so we can assess the results and if the patient wants to add more volume, we'll do another round of Renuva injections.

Renuva can be cost prohibitive for large volume injections, like the 30ccs you are asking about.

The makers of Renuva are working on two areas to help with this:

1. They will allow injectors to perform large volume treatments with Renuva starting in March, 2021.

2. They are currently working on a new groundbreaking treatment specifically for large volume areas.

I highly recommend speaking with a board-certified plastic surgeon about your desired results. They will be able to recommend the best course of treatment for your specific situation.

We have been able to achieve amazing results with Renuva in treating age-related volume loss in the face and hands and smoothing unwanted dimples, bumps and irregularities anywhere that fat is naturally stored in the body – typically using around 3cc at a time. 
Renuva is cost prohibitive for the majority of patients who want large volume treatments for various body areas. The good news is that the makers of Renuva are working on creating a new groundbreaking treatment for larger volume replacement, so check back in March 2021. 
Renuva doesn't "fail." When we treat patients, we recommend they return after 3 months post-treatment so that we can see the results. If the patient wants to add more volume, then we do another Renuva treatment.
Once we achieve the patient's desired look, then we can stop treatment for many years because the results are a result of their very own fat cells, which can live up to ten years or more, depending on the person.
