I agree with Dr. Lupo that Radiesse would be a poor choice for this area. I would go with one of the hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvederm) or collagen (Cosmoderm/Cosmoplast). A small amount of Botox 2 weeks prior to the filler injections would be ideal. For long-term improvement in these lines, consider a deeper chemical peel or ablative laser resurfacing.Good luck.
Juvederm, Prevelle Silk, Restylane, and Cosmoderm are the best filler for those fine peri-oral radiating smoker/lipstick lines. Radiesse in this area can cause lumping. The constant movement can cause both Sculptra and Radiesse to lump around the mouth. A little Botx also goes a long way to improve these lines.www.drmarylupo.com

Hi Debbie, Yes, it does sound as if the second branch of your Trigeminal nerve was affected by the local anesthetic nerve block, and/or too much Radiesse too close to the nerve causing compression of the nerve. The good news is that this is almost never a permanent complication. The bad news...
Radiesse is a powerful and effective dermal filler that is based on the ground substance of bone. Radius is used in small volumes of 1 to 2 mL when injected for cosmetic purposes in the face. Injection of Radiesse into the butt is not recommended. Problems arise when lumps of Radiesse...
Bruising and swelling can occur from any injection. In reviewing your photograph I only see what appears to be some skin bruising but not any gross swelling. That should go away in a few days. Initially bruising and swelling may be perceived as uneven results but that will settle...
