Can Radiesse calcify if injected into periosteum, or is this where it should be placed?

Please HELP! Radiesse hell! I am disturbed @ amount of inconsistent information horrid radiesse. Cheeks injected (not knowing it was NOT Hyaluronic acid) 6 mths later I have moon face &witch chin. I got about .5 each cheek & .5 in the chin. Q: when I was injected I heard a popping sound 2x Going into the layers. Concerning because I have heard multiple doctors say if injected into the periosteum of the bone it can calcify and be permanent. YET multiple websites say this is precisely where it SHOULD be injected. So which is it??
