My Essix retainer is not covering my wisdom teeth, now snug should they fit? (Photos)

Hi Melissa.  I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your mail-order appliance.  I see three related issues here.1) Mail ordered retainer - You didn't mention the process by which this happened.  But  without a dentist or orthodontist taking the scan or mold, then delivering the retainer to make sure it fits...it's no wonder you are having problems.2) Uncovered third molars - this is a huge no-no for the reason you mentioned.  Wisdom teeth WILL hyper erupt and your bite WILL change.3) Tight fit - I'd rather it be tight than loose, but too tight makes it annoying to take off.   This often happens when there are undercuts caused by teeth with very round surfaces.  Again, a result of ordering by mail as a doctor could not adjust it.  If this not caught by the lab tech making the appliance, when we fit retainers, we sometimes need to trim the edge back a bit where we see undercuts.  As long as most of each tooth is covered, it still does it's job.Sounds like you are back to square one.  Please find a qualified specialist orthodontist.
