Hello!To be able to place a crown, some of your tooth is reshaped, this means that your tooth no longer has its original size on its own, if or when you remove the gold crown, it will need to be replaced by a porcelain crown so you can have it with the original size and color. Hi there...it just depends on how big the hole is and whether there is a cavity. Sometimes fillings fall out when a cavity develops underneath the filling. Your dentist will be able to tell once they can take an xray on the tooth. Hope this helps.
