Can wrinkles from Retin A become permanent?

I used Retin A for about 7 weeks including my under eye area. After 7 weeks, I woke up one morning with creases/wrinkles under both my eyes that I never had before. I stopped using the Retin A and then used 1% hydrocortisone cream under my eyes for about 2 weeks. It has now been about 4 weeks since I stopped the Retin A and the creases under my eyes are still there.

Applying retinol under the eyes can often make wrinkles appear worse. The skin around the eyes is much more delicate and thin than the rest of the face. A cell-turnover cream like retinol can dry out and irritate the under eye area, effectively making your wrinkles look more pronounced. This is why most doctors recommend you avoid theSHOW MORE  under-eye area when using these creams. 
I would recommend using an alternative gentle eye cream for the long term and avoiding the eye area if you were to use a retinol again.
