Yes you can. However, if the implants are in the back of the mouth, we usually recommend leaving the space to allow for better healing. Stayplates are typically for cosmetic reasons. Happy healing!
Hi:Normally, you should be able to get a flipper (temporary partial) while waiting for your implants to heal. Best,Dr. Maddahi
Depending on where you are missing teeth and the location of the implants will determine what temporary or transitional appliance can be worn. Most of us whom place implants prefer to have the area heal without pressure from a temporary. Our patients want teeth ASAP so we compromise.I do not recommend removable partial plates due to the movements on pressure placed on the healing tissues but they can be worn in certain circumstances per your dentists recommendation. When possible, I utilize Essix Appliances and bonded temporaries but you will need to have teeth on both sides of the implant surgical site to benefit from these.Another option is to just wait it out if it is a back tooth issue. Stay with a soft diet and focus on a great hygiene routine for your soon to be new teeth!
Yes. Your dentist should be able to make an interim partial in most circumstances. This can help you function and smile while waiting.
Hi: Normally the blood clot dissolves after 48 hours. The key is if there is any pain with the site, otherwise all is healing normally. As always it is best to inform your surgeon of any changes you notice with the surgery site. Best, Dr. Maddahi
I am sorry to hear about your complication. Our implant removal fee is 650 using reverse torque technique which does not require 'cutting' the bone and results in rapid healing and virtually no post operative pain.
You don't say if your dentist placed the implant or whether it was an oral surgeon or periodontist. I would suggest seeing a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who does lots of implants. Have them do a complete exam and consultation and see what they think your options are.
According to my opinion, the dental implant is the best way to fill the gap between the tooth. With the dental implant treatment, the bones of teeth will be preserved and even, prevents the further damage of the facial structure. This in turn improves your appearance by restoring your lost tooth...
You can have implant surgery by the oral surgeon or periodontist and get implant abutment ( or custom abutment) and implant crown, done by a general dentist. In fact this is a great practice, since the surgeons have much more experience and can handle any unforeseen problems more easily than...
Hi:Unfortunately with root canal infection the infection will not go away with antibiotic in the long term. The source of the infection has to be treated in order to make sure the infection goes away. If the tooth is not cracked, Apicoectomy might be your best option at this point.Best,Dr. Maddahi
