This is probably the first time I have heard this and I would need to know more aobut your surgery and the method of muscle or diastasis repair. Occasionally incidental hernias are fixed with mesh and you may be experiencing clicking or popping of mesh or permanent sutures.
3 Weeks Post-op Tummy Tuck - Popping Nose After Sneezing? Can a Popping Noise After Sneezing Be Scar Tissue? Can Scar Tissue Already for 3 Weeks Post-op? I cant say I have ever heard a complaint like this but I would be evaluated by your plastic surgeon. Scar tissue would not be a cause of the noise you are hearing. If there is not bulging, swelling or pain associated with it, it is unlikely anything to worry about, but again I would recommend seeing your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
What you describe is unusual, I have never heard that complaint before. If there is no associated pain, swelling, bulging, it is probably nothing to worry about, as long as it is getting better. You can appreciate the beginnings of Scar tissue at 3 weeks, however, that shouldn't cause popping noises. I would have an evaluation by your plastic surgeon to see if it is reproducible and can be explained by the surgical procedure, sutures, etx.
Generally speaking the plication of the abdominal wall is very secure and it would take significant force / trauma to disrupt this repair. Generally speaking, a sneeze, cough and/or straining will not generate enough force to harm the repair. Again, if you are concerned, I would suggest that you visit with your surgeon for an examination so that he/she can (most likely) put your mind at ease.Best wishes.
Popping noise after sneezing post- tummy tuck? Without an exam I would have no idea what this could be. You may want to be seen by your doctor.
Your situation is NOT typical. While each situation needs to be evaluated on its own it MAY mean that you have the edges of two cartilages rubbing together. Your surgeon is the best qualified to answer this question. Although scar tissue has and is forming,it will continue to form and be modified for up to a year. See your surgeon. Dr. Peter Aldea
As suggested below, Emory university has a great plastic surgery residency training program. Consider contacting the plastic surgery department there and inquiring into plastic surgery in their resident's clinic.
This appears to be in the central portion of the incision where the circulation is most compromised by the surgery. It sounds as if your surgeon is monitoring the situation and I would remain in close contact. Dried blood can be cleansed with peroxide but I would ask first.
Floating abdominoplasty uses a small incision in the lower abdomen to allow for the tummy to be tightened and shaped. No incision around the belly button is needed. Through the incision, excess skin is removed and muscles can be tightened. The belly button is temporarily detached during the...
The good news is that you don't need a tummy tuck, the bad news is that there are very limited options for tightening the skin in the central abdomen. Laser treatments tend to work best in the face, but Thermage has some success for abdominal skin if it isn't too loose.
It is still very early after surgery. I commonly see belly buttons that start out with a triangular shape and get pulled out into a rounder shape due to the tension from pulling the skin. Give it at least 3 months before making any judgments. The bubbly swollen appearance will also...
Intermittent burning or piercing, even pulling pains are common after abdominoplasty. Most of these improve after 1 year. It could be related to a pull on a nerve. Regardless, if it doesn't affect your quality of life, and other etiologies have been ruled out, I would carry on with full...
