I have a large hole in my first or second pre molar the tooth inside is yellow and green. Does my tooth need pulling out?

at times is sore when I bite down or when food gets stuck in it also gum pain has started and it is tender and a little swollen

Firstly, it needs to see your tooth condition or a  x-ray to recommend any treatment. If your tooth is badly infected then it is good to pull out the tooth.

It's impossible to answer your question without a picture or an xray. My best suggestion is to get to the dentist. the longer you wait the better your chances for needing to remove the tooth instead of fixing it.
