I had 8 front crowns placed to correct crocked teeth &I hate them. Before my teeth curved inward, now I have a massive overbite I hate. Before the process they told me I needed my gums laser reshaped. I did this, now the permanents are placed and my gum line is awful. Giant space above one crown. My front 2 teeth you cannot tell in pic but the gum line does not cover the top of those crowns well. Color is not white enough. They look to big. I hate everything :( I have a follow up scheduled

If you need a root canal it is best to have the root canal done first, then place a crown or porcelain onlay on the tooth! If there is not enough support for the tooth porcelain crown will be placed and of course you will have a temporary crown on your tooth, prior to receiving the final crown...
I would recommend to contact your dentist. was it a temporary crown? was it not cemented with a permanent cement? I'm positive he/she would address your concern.
Good luck!
