Had root canal on front upper tooth 11 years ago. My crown broke and more than half of my actual tooth broke off. Went to dentist today, took x-ray and said best would be to put a post and crown. Right now I have a temporary plastic one. I read on post crowns vs implants and would like input. Im 34 and considering that its my front tooth, which I use to bite, would it be better to go with an implant rather than a post? We also discussed a crown for other front tooth since it has an ugly patch.

Hi:Unfortunalely without photos of your smile it is difficult to give you accurate advice. Generally if the missing teeth that are contributing to the facial collapse are replaced there is a reversal of the collapse.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Hi:
Sorry to hear about your pain. Unfortunately with out xrays it is difficult to give you accurate advice. My suggestion is to get a 3D scan to really make sure the bone around the implant and the surrounding teeth is healthy.
Best,

Hi:
With implants just like teeth not only you have to brush your teeth at least twice a day, you also have to floss and get professional cleaning at least every 6 months. Any time you feel uncomfortable you can get a second opinion, however, everything sounds right.
