This is not infected, but isn't healing properly.  You should go see your dermatologist for wound care treatments as this will take a while to heal if not taken care of properly.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question and I sorry to hear that your wound opened up.The wound mildly looks infected so it split open (dehiscence) because of natural tensing of tissues and skin in that area. It will now heal with a secondary intention (healing from the bottom of the wound upwards) forming a roundish scar. Please see your dermatologist to get some treatment if it is definitely an infection.

I would recommend being seen by your doctor. That appears to have an infection. While it can heal by secondary intention (meaning no sutures are needed), you need to keep the wound clean, free of scars or scabs, and moist with Polysporin.
