How Far Down Do Teeth Go into Gums and Jaw? (photo)

Question

It might be hard to tell in these pictures but my teeth seem to be getting bigger due to gums receding really bad. My question is how far exactly do your teeth go down? I'm scared and feel like my teeth are about to fall out of my mouth and I'm extremely worried how much longer until they actually fall out? I can't make it into the dentist for another week, and will I even have these teeth by then? I might just be very paranoid but main ones I'm concerned about I have marked with a pink circle.

Based on the photos that you have attached you are not in any danger of your teeth "falling out" in the next few weeks. Tooth roots are typically attached deep within the jaw unless there has been severe gum disease. It does not look as though this is a problem in your case. To ease your mind I would set up an appointment with a dentist soon for a full exam and x-rays. Good luck.

Your teeth are sunk into your gums and jaw quite far. They are NOT about to fall out. You can certainly wait until next week or 2 to see your dentist. It is NOT an emergency visit. Have a full set of X-rays taken and ask for a complete periodontal (gum) examination and evaluation. If he is concerned about the gum recession, he might even want to send you to a Periodontist (gum specialist) for a 2nd opinion.
