Will taking 5HTP for depression cause hair loss?

I’ve tried SSRI’s for anxiety/depression in the past, and have experienced unfavorable side effects (hair loss, etc). I heard that 5 HTP is effective is treating both depression and anxiety, but I’m worried that it will also cause hair loss. Any advice?

Shaven head do not cause any hair loss density. You are still young, if you are looking for hair transplantation I suggest you to wait 5 more years. 18 years old it's to young, your hair loss is not stable.

After 6 months if you don't see any grow it's possible that your hair will not grow back.You should see a professional hair loss doctor, to analyse your hair and maybe start some treatments which can stimulate your hair grow .

For hair transplant surgery you are still young, and we can't know how will be the hairloss on the futur.If you have high hair line, and if it's disturb you, you can do hair transplant in few years.Minoxidil it works well but you have to know the start and stop process of this treatment
