Tretinoin prior to the beach? Will I have to stop using it for a while?

My family will be going to the beach in a few weeks time. I'd like to know if I have to stop using tretinoin for a while prior to the said activity? If yes, how many days or weeks? Thank you.

question.Stop using tretinoin at least one week prior to full sun exposure and be sure your SPF is blocking UVA & UVB rays. Even with stopping the product a week prior, your skin is still sensitive to sun exposure so it is very important to use the proper protection. To be sure, see two
or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to
make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have
treatment.

I usually recommend that patients hold applying Tretinoin one week prior to having intense sun exposure.  I also recommend that you use proper sun protection during your trip to the beach, this includes using your sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection, protective clothing, umbrella, shade, and eyewear.
